ArchivalResource

Edwin Smith Savage UT lantern slide collection, 1942.

Collection consists of lantern slides taken by Mr. Savage on the main campus of the University of Texas at Austin and in surrounding areas in 1942. Among the buildings pictured are B Hall, Waggener Hall, Garrison Hall, Hogg Auditorium and the Texas Memorial Museum, the Physics Building, the UT Tower and the Texas state capitol. The presence of numerous slides of dormitories and fraternity and sorority houses may reflect the photographer's knowledge of his intended audience. Included in the collection is a hand-written checklist of subjects that does not entirely correspond to the arrangement of the slides themselves. Some slides are also identified on the slide mounts.

198 slides.
